Parall(elles) | an exhibition at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts
Parall(elles) highlights the breadth and complexity of design pieces made by American and Canadian women by situating these works against the backdrop of social, political and personal issues that shaped their experiences across time. The exhibition also considers the intersectionality of gender, identity, race, culture and class to provide a deeper understanding of the varied roles and achievements of women. It traces the development of educational and professional opportunities available to women, the evolution of the status of crafts and the impact that women’s rights movements had on their practices. Finally, beyond revisiting traditional definitions of “design,” Parall(elles) opens a window onto a world of magnificent beauty and skill.
Our Distant Touches | an exhibition at Projet Casa
Come discover Our Distant Touches, a solo exhibition by artist Alexis Vanasse.
Our Distant Touches is the result of multidisciplinary artist Alexis Vanasse's material and conceptual research into phenomena related to memory and different forms of language. He is interested in lyrical and anecdotal poetry, as well as the concept of artification, the process by which non-art becomes art. Through the exploration of different materials such as paper, wood and dust, Vanasse questions the possible relationships between the works he creates, the places where they are located and certain external agents that cause them to perpetually regenerate themselves.

Leonard Cohen: A Crack in Everything
A Crack in Everything - only online
Inspired by its eponymous exhibition Leonard Cohen: A Crack in Everything, presented in 2017-2018, the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal (MAC) presents a new, virtual exhibition, whose sensory, immersive selection of works explore contemporary art through the vibrant lens of Leonard Cohen’s creative universe.
The exhibition examines the embracing, universal themes that define Leonard Cohen’s oeuvre and their connective tissue with contemporary art by assembling fifty or so works from the MAC’s permanent collection, as well as the works and songs from the original exhibition, which remains one of the museum’s most highly attended and popular show ever.
Imaginary Being | an exhibition at 1700 La Poste
1700 La Poste presents an exhibition dedicated to the sculptor Jannick Deslauriers.
Bringing together two major bodies of work, the exhibition Imaginary Being traces Jannick Deslauriers’ artistic trajectory from 2006 to the present. A selection of older works, assembled mainly from translucent fabrics, is shown alongside recent creations in which sewing has given way to welding. A new installation, Phasmids, made of steel structures, beeswax, wood ash, and thread, is deployed across the space of the main exhibition hall.
