Plural 2024: a record-breaking edition! Presented by National Bank, Plural took place from April 12 to 14 at the Grand Quay of the Port of Montreal. The fair brought together 46 Canadian galleries and the works of over 500 artists.

The Contemporary Art Galleries Association (AGAC), which has been organizing the event for 17 years, is particularly proud to have welcomed over 10,500 visitors, a record turnout since the fair moved to the Grand Quay in 2019.

Despite some intermittent rain, the festive atmosphere was an ideal setting to make new acquaintances and discover art. AGAC is delighted with the enthusiastic response from the public, which was made up of art lovers from all backgrounds, who came to acquire, discover or admire the incredible selection of works presented at Plural.

The C.O.A Gallery first opened its doors in May of 2014, offering a creative and playful atmosphere where art brut and contemporary art forms converge. Its represented artists hail both from Canada and abroad and, although C.O.A counts a few ubiquitous names on its roster, it mostly focuses on showcasing emergent talent. Highly varied in both style and substance, every artist has one point in common: a creative and aesthetic singularity. These artists play around with established norms and challenge the public's understanding of them. In fact, the C.O.A acronym stands for Creators of Atypical Artworks (Créateurs d'Oeuvres Atypiques).

Galerie Laroche\Joncas was established in 2005 by André Laroche and Louis Joncas.
In September 2023 the gallery relocated at 1815 rue St-André, in Montréal after fifteen years at the #410 Belgo building on Ste-Catherine St. West .The gallery focuses on emerging and established contemporary artists working in photography, textiles, painting, drawing, sculpture. In 2020 the project "La Shed" a small project space was inaugurated in Gabarus, Cape Breton, a seasonal gallery that exhibits the work of contemporary artists.

VivianeArt virtually presents works by artists Alana Bartol, Alex Bierk, Sarah Nordean, Sadia Fakih, Shawn Evans, Serena Beaulieu, Tyler Bright Hilton. This presentation of work will share a strong voice utilizing a variety of techniques and approaches. Figuration, narrative and identity: the environment, the diaspora and our emotional connections to place and people will all be a part of the conversation.

At Grand Quay of the Port of Montreal

The Contemporary Art Galleries Association (AGAC) is delighted to confirm the enthusiastic response to the fair's return to the Grand Quay. What a pleasure for the organizer and the galleries to welcome back in-person the art lovers who took part in this important gathering. In addition to these figures, 21,000 unique visitors viewed the fair's website from November 18 to 28, an increase of 16% compared to the virtual edition of 2020. In addition, throughout the fair, the public was present to attend the many panels and conferences that punctuated the educational program.

Modeled as a lean startup, the Art Volt Collection (AVC) is a professional, juried sales and rental marketplace for recently graduated artists from Concordia’s Faculty of Fine Arts. It provides cohort-based training on the basics of building a commercial career, while connecting artists with collectors interested in up-and-coming talent. The AVC features artists and their work on a professional online gallery, and builds publics by brokering art sales and rentals through an e-commerce interface with minimum overhead costs, while ensuring the tracking and preservation of artworks for posterity.
